The structure of a small feed pellet machine:

It is composed of a motor (diesel engine), a gearbox, a main shaft, a coupling, a die plate, a pressure roller, a feed hopper, a cutter, and a discharge hopper.

Working principle of small feed pellet mill:

The small flat die pellet machine is based on mechanical circular motion. A diesel engine and electric motor drive the drive shaft, and transfer gears drive the main shaft and template, so that the template rubs the pressure wheel and rotates. Under pressure, the material moves from the die, extrudes through the hole, is cut by the cutter, and finally rolls out as pellets from the discharge port. The large and medium-sized flat die pellet machine is driven by a motor that drives the belt pulley to the gearbox, or the motor directly connects to the gearbox gear, transmitting power to the pressure roller assembly on the gearbox main shaft. Under pressure from the pressing wheel, the material is extruded through the template hole, cut by the cutter, and finally rolled out of the material opening.

The working process requires a mixed powder with a moisture content of not more than 15% to enter the feed auger from the hopper, adjust the speed of the step-less speed regulation motor to obtain a suitable material flow, and then enter the agitator, stir, and steam through the stirring rod for mixing and conditioning. If you need to add molasses or fat, add it from the mixing drum to condition with steam. The amount of fat added is generally no more than 3%; otherwise, it will be difficult to form. After conditioning, the mixed powder temperature can reach 64～85℃, and the humidity reaches 114~16. Then the powder passes through the optional iron absorption device to remove iron impurities, and finally enters the pressing chamber for granulation.

Raw material for pellet feed:

The raw materials for pellet feed for cattle, sheep, and rabbits come from a wide range of sources, such as corn stover, bean straw, wheat straw, rice straw, flower seedlings (husks), sweet potato seedlings, alfalfa grass, rape straw, and so on. After the forage grass is made into pellets, it has high density and large capacity, which supports long-distance transportation. It enables the digestion and utilization of crop stalks in different places, increases the value of the stalks, increases farmers' income, and protects the ecological environment in the development of agriculture and animal husbandry. Because pellet feed maintains uniformity during storage, transportation, and feeding, feeding loss can be reduced by 8% to 10%.

During pelleting, moisture, temperature, and pressure can trigger physical and chemical reactions that gelatinize starch and increase enzyme activity, helping animals digest the feed more effectively and gain weight. Feeding poultry and pigs pellet feed can increase the feed conversion rate (that is, the rate of return) by 10%- 12% compared with powdered feed. 4. Good liquidity and easy management. Many powders, especially fluffy feeds with low specific gravity, often stick to feed silos, especially molasses- or high-fat and urea-added feeds. Because pellet feed has good fluidity and rarely exhibits adhesion, it is popular for farms that use automatic feeders to raise dairy cows or poultry on a large scale.

5. Avoid automatic grading of feed ingredients and reduce environmental pollution. During powder storage and transport, differences in volume and mass make classification difficult. After pelleting, feed ingredients are no longer classified, and pellets are less likely to become dusty. During feeding, pellets cause much less air and moisture pollution than powders.

6. Kill Salmonella in animal feed. Salmonella can remain in animal tissues after animals ingest it-people who eat animals infected with this bacterium can develop Salmonella-related gastrointestinal problems. Pelletizing after high-temperature tempering can kill Salmonella in animal feed.
