Horizontal Ring Die Pellet Mill is also named pellet machine, pellet maker, pellet press, pelletizer, pellet making machine, and pellet mill. Which is the main machine in the wood pellet line. it is retrofit over products according to the characteristics of biomass fuel particles based on our feed pellet machine, it mainly used for pressing flammable biomass materials such as sawdust from softwood and hardwood, wood chips, wood shavings, straw, stalk, grass, rice husk, bagasse, peanut shell, sunflower husk, coconut shell, EFB, and any other biomass material to pellets, so it is the most popular and most utility pellet mill among the three kind pellet machines.
Horizontal ring die pellet mill structure
Ring die pellet mill is made up of a base frame, motor, coupling, gearbox, main shaft, hollow shaft, rollers, ring die, force-feeding system, feeding system, and control system.
1. The feeding system is the feeder auger on top of the pellet mill, it adopts frequency control to change the feeding speed by VFD, thus avoiding material block in the pellet mill and overload, from the feeder auger, raw material go to force feeder by gravity.
2. The force feeder pushes the raw material go to the pelletizing room, force feeder is an important part of the horizontal ring die pellet mill even it is a small part because the bulk density of biomass material is low, the mobility is not good, so the force feeder can help to push the material into pelletizing chamber.
3. In a pelletizing room of the horizontal ring die pellet mill, there is a feeder scraper, rollers, ring die, main shaft, and hollow shaft, the rollers are fixed on the main shaft which is stable during machine working, but the roller shell is running, the ring die is fixed on the hollow shaft by a hoop, the ring die is running during machine working. After the material goes to the pelletizing room, the rollers and scraper will press the material into holes on the ring die, the material will press out from the holes to get pellets. The diameter and effective extrusion length of the holes decide the size of final pellets, the ratio between effective extrusion length of the hole on the ring die and diameter of the hole is called compression ratio, which is an important data of the ring die, it decides the quality of final pellets. According to the character of different raw materials, we can make a special compression ratio ring die for one kind of raw material, so just change the ring die can make the pellet mill suitable for different raw materials.

4. The main shaft is inside of the hollow shaft, the backside of the main shaft goes to safety base, in case there is a block in the machine but did not stop the machine in time, the safety pin will be broken and give a signal to control panel to stop the machine. In front of the main shart, there are the rollers.
In front of the hollow shaft, there is a ring die, it is running during the machine is operating.
The rollers and ring die made up the pelletizing chamber, material fed into pelletizing chamber, the rollers will press the material into ring die to compress pellets.
The ring die, rollers, main shaft, the hollow shaft is installed in the pelletizing room at a horizontal level, that is why it is called a horizontal pellet mill.
