A flat die pellet mill has a simple structure. The motor and gearbox drive the machine. The gearbox connects the motor to the main shaft. The rollers rotate together with the main shaft in the pelletizing chamber. As the rollers run, they press the material through the hole in the flat die below; the material passes through to form pellets. The hole's effective length determines the compression ratio on the flat die, which affects pellet quality.
