Sawdust Rotary Drum Dryer

Sawdust rotary drum dryers are designed to dry wood chips, sawdust, wood shavings, bagasse, ground fiber from EFB, coconut shell, straw, stalk, and any biomass material. It can reduce the moisture from 50-60% to 8-12% according to the different requirements for the final usage of dried material.

The sawdust rotary drum dryer is made up of the main drum tube, base rolling roller, reducer/gearbox, feeding chute, discharge chute, heating stove, air fan, cyclone, airlock, connection pipes, and electric panel.

* The drum tube is the main part of the rotary dryer, the diameter, and length of the drum tube decide the capacity of the rotary dryer and the moisture-reducing ability of the rotary dryer. Inside the drum tube, there is a material raising plate, This plate is welded inside the drum tube by special design, the position and angle of this plate can raise up the material and move the material from the feeding end to the discharge end when the material padding the drum tube.

* During material passing the drum tube, the material mixes with hot air supplied by the heating stove, the hot air can vapor the water content in raw material.

The heating stove has different solutions:

Traditionally common heating stoves are built with cement and firebricks, this kind of heating stove uses wood or biomass material as a fuel source.

Nowadays, people also use furnaces to provide hot air to the rotary dryer, the furnace can use wood pellets, sawdust, wood chips, natural gas, or heavy oil as a fuel source

Some clients have a big generator on-site and also send the waste air from the generator to the drum tube to provide a heating source.

* The rolling rollers and reducer are the base of the drum dryer, and the rollers and gear form the transmission system to the drum tube, the motor of the reducer is VFD control from the electric panel, it can adjust the rotating speed of the drum tube so that to control the moisture reducing ability. If the raw material moisture content is relatively high adjust from the VFD to let the drum tube rotate slower if the raw material moisture content is relatively low adjust from the VFD to let the drum tube rotate faster.

* The air fan is installed at the end of the drum dryer, it is used to provide suction to the drum tube thus moving out the vapor from the drum tube, at the end of the drum tube, the dried raw material discharged from the discharge chute, and the air fan suction the vapor and dust then send them to cyclone unit.

* The cyclone and airlock are used for de-dust purposes at the end of the drum dryer.
