A rotary drum dryer is a type of drying machine and a basic machine in the wood pellet line. The drum dryer consists of a heating furnace, dryer drum main body, feeding chute, discharge chute, blower, cyclone, airlock, gear, rolling ring, gearbox, transmission system, electric panel, and connecting pipelines. A conveyor feeds the raw materials into the dryer. Material enters the drum main body from the feed chute. The motor, gearbox, and rolling ring drive the drum main body, moving the raw material forward through the drum. At the same time, the heating furnace sends hot air into the drum. The blower draws in the raw material and hot air, and they move to the end of the dryer. In transit, the raw material dries; the dried material discharges from the discharge chute and is moved away by a conveyor; waste air goes through the blower pipe and is vented, and the cyclone collects the dust.

From the electric panel, you can adjust the drum dryer's main body rotation speed, making the dryer suitable for different raw materials with different initial moisture content.

A rotary drum dryer application

The rotary drum dryer dries wood chips, sawdust, rice husk, and any crushed biomass material smaller than 30mm.

To meet different initial and final moisture content requirements, adjust the drum tube rotating speed to find the best solution.

Usually, for pellets, the final dried biomass moisture content is 12-15%; for charcoal briquettes, it is 8-12%.
