A vertical ring die pellet plant includes five parts: raw material grinding, Raw material drying, pelletizing, Pellet cooling, and packing.

* The raw material grinding part is designed to reduce the size of the raw material to about 5 mm; it is about the size of sawdust, because this is the best size for the pellet mill to press pellets.

Depending on the raw material, we use different machines and solutions to reduce the size.

For raw materials like wood logs, tree branches, and wood residues, we commonly use a wood chipper to turn the wood into wood chips first, then use a hammer mill to turn the chips into sawdust.

For raw materials like straw, bagasse, coconut shell, cotton stalk, and giant grass, we usually use a crusher to grind them directly into 5mm pieces.

For raw materials like EFB, B we usually use a shredding machine to turn the EFB into fiber,r then use a hammer mill to grind the EFB fiber.

Raw materials like rice husk, sunflower husk, peanut shells, and sawdust do not need to be reduced in size; once the moisture is reduced to 15%, they can be fed directly into a vertical ring die biomass pellet mill to make pellets.

* The raw material drying part is designed to reduce the moisture of raw material to 15% to meet the requirement of the pellet mill for the humidity of raw material.

We usually use a rotary drum dryer to process these raw materials, according to the features of raw material we have a single-pass rotary dryer and three pass rotary dryer, our engineer team will give a solution on the size of the dryer and which kind of dryer will use according to features of your raw material.

* Pelletizing part is to turn the prepared raw material into pellets, in a vertical ring die biomass pellet plant we use vertical type pellet mill to produce pellets because this kind of pellet mill is vertical structure, it has absolute advantages on feeding raw material, the raw material can fall into the pelletizing chamber by gravity directly, especially for low bulk density raw material like a peanut shell, sunflower husk, straw, rice husk, coconut shell, EFB, it has more advantages to feed the raw material. This vertical ring dies pellet mill is equipped with a grease injection pump to automatically lubricate the bearings. Because of its vertical structure, the vertical ring dies pellet mill is better suited for pressing low-bulk-density biomass into pellets.

* The pellet cooling and pellet packing part is designed to cool down the pellets and pack the pellets into bags. Because pellets from the pellet mill are around 70 Celsius, packing them directly is too hot and can damage the bags. If hot pellets are stored without cooling, they cool slowly and become loose; the pellet surface can crack, affecting density and appearance. So, after the pellet mill, using a pellet cooler is necessary. Normally, after the cooler, a pellet sieving machine sieves the pellets, removes fine powder, and ensures all pellets go to the packing machine. The packing machine weighs the pellets, fills bags, and seals them. The ring die pellet equipment includes logs, branches, wood, wood chips, straw, sawdust, cotton stalks, bagasse, corn cobs, EFB, peanut shells, sunflower shells, rice husks, coconut husks, forage, and other materials. Particle sizes are 6mm, 8 mm, 10mm, etc.
