Ring die is also called mold or matrix, it is one of spars parts/wearing parts for horizontal ring die pellet mill. During pellet mill work, the holes on the ring die will be worn out because of the high-strength compress.

Compression ratio is important data for ring die, it is the ratio between the diameter of the hole on the ring die and the effective compress length of the hole, the compression ratio decides the compressed time when raw material passes the hole, for different bulk density raw material should use different compression ratio ring die.

The compression ratio decides the hardness, color, and pelletizing ratio, that is to say, it decides the quality of the final pellets if the ring die compression ratio is too low for the raw material the pellets are loosened or can not shape pellets when raw material pass the holes if the compression ratio is too high the surface of the pellet is black, hardness is too high or the material block inside the holes can not pass.

For low bulk density raw material usually choose higher compression ratio ring die, for high bulk density raw material ring die usually choose low compression ratio ring die.
