How To Choose The Right Ring Die For Pellet Mill
Jun 16, 2021
The choice of ring die:
Ring die is an important part of the pellet mill. It has a direct impact on the power consumption, output and quality of granulation.
When choosing a ring die, the key is to choose a suitable die hole and its roughness.
When the new ring die is put into operation, check the production capacity of the pellet mill and the quality of the pellets. If neither can meet the standard, and other operating indicators are abnormal, it indicates that the selected ring die does not match the product produced.
Once this happens, the specifications of the ring die or the formula of the product should be re-evaluated. Only one ring die can not be suitable for all products, so that it can not only achieve the highest production capacity, but also the highest quality products.
Production capacity and product quality are largely affected by the design of the ring die. In addition to the thickness of the ring die, the specifications of the extrusion hole should also be considered when selecting, such as: inlet taper hole, taper hole depth, taper extrusion hole length, outlet taper hole angle and depth, etc., they must be suitable for the Specific reasons for granulation.
Supplementing water and hot air (steam) can increase the toughness of most feeds, or make it easier to stick. When thinner ring molds are used, the output can be increased.
For a given ring die, the smaller the feed particles, the greater the hardness of the particles.
